Hardwick Green has been awarded a grant of £2,000 from the Department for Education's 'Strengthening Chess in Primary Schools' scheme. We are using our grant funding to partner with 'Chess in Schools and Communities' to:
- provide Years 3-6 children with access an online weekly chess club
- buy chess sets for the school
- cover the cost of chess tournaments as our children become confident with chess
- cover the cost of in-person tutors for pupils in Year 5 to learn chess as part of the curriculum
We look forward to starting our journey with chess in January!
